2017 Ride for Research

October 12-15, 2017

San Francisco - Los Angeles

The mission of the CAL-PT-FUND is to advance the science and practice of physical therapy by providing $10,000 each year in grant support to physical therapist researchers in California. The CAL-PT-FUND is committed to building the body of knowledge to support evidence-based, high-quality, cost-effective physical therapy.

The FUND's Annual Ride for Research has become our largest fundraiser and is back for the third year running. Last year, our riders raised over $20,000 - that's 2 years of grants! The ride, which goes from San Francisco to Los Angeles, is a great opportunity to show support for the FUND and help emerging researchers in California.

Come Support the Ride and Meet the Riders

We have several events planned throughout the Ride to give you the opportunity to come out and meet our Riders, support the FUND, and have some fun! Mark your calendars so you don't miss out on these exciting events.

Thursday, October 12

UCSF/SFSU PT department will be hosting our kickoff reception from 7:30-8:30 am on the SFSU campus. The event will be held at the HSS Building on the corner of 19th and Holloway Ave. Light refreshments will be served and photo ops will be available.

San Jose District will be hosting an evening reception from 7-9 pm in San Jose at Santa Clara Valley Brewing (101 E. Alma Ave, San Jose). Save the Date on your calendar, and plan on coming out to meet renowned researcher Nancy Byl. For a $25 onsite contribution to the PT Fund, participants will get a pint of beer or non-alcoholic beverage and a hefty slice of pizza! San Jose District member Judy Sebring has pledged to donate $10 to the FUND for every person that attends the event. RSVP to Diron Cassidy.

Friday, October 13

San Jose District will also be hosting a breakfast reception at 7 am in Monterey at First Awakenings (125 Ocean View Blvd). Save the Date on your calendar to come meet the riders and maybe join them for the quick 17 Mile Drive portion of the Ride. Again, San Jose District member Judy Sebring has pledged to donate $10 to the FUND for every person that attends the event. Individual donations are also welcome. RSVP to Alain Claudel.

Tricounties District will be hosting an evening reception from 7-8:30 pm in Atascadero at Maria Allen's house. Refreshments will be provided. Come mingle with Tricounties District members and the riders. To RSVP and get address information, please contact Maria Allen.
