The Centers of Excellence Recognition Program
Consistent with the mission and goals of the CPTA’s Quality Practice Committee, the California Physical Therapy Association’s Centers of Excellence recognition program was designed to enhance and promote evidence-based quality physical therapy practice in the state of California. By establishing a set of quality practice indicators, physical therapy clinics are provided standards of excellence by which to measure performance. In addition, this program also provides clinics with the necessary resources and guidance to become quality providers of physical therapy services.
The standards established by CPTA cover the breadth of physical therapist practice and are focused on promoting best practice and quality care. To ensure best practice patterns and continuous quality improvement, physical therapy practices in the state of California are encouraged to participate in this peer-review process. In doing so, those internal and external to the profession can be assured that the needs of those seeking physical therapy care are being met. By exceeding these quality standards, physical therapy practices will be able to promote themselves as meeting the highest principles of practice excellence as promoted by the CPTA and the profession of physical therapy.
The program offers a comprehensive resource package designed to meet the needs of all physical therapists in every clinical setting.
